My name is Susannah Clinker, and I am a PhD candidate in archaeology at the University of Toronto. My research prioritizes community-based and collaborative approaches, with a particular focus on heritage education, sovereignty, and how archaeology can serve the contemporary needs and desires of local and descendant communities.
I currently work on projects based in Nunavut and Northern Ontario, where building meaningful, long-term relationships and working in partnership with community organizations are central.
I am especially interested in utilizing digital and non-destructive methods in my research and incorporating tools such as 3D modelling, GIS, and drone-based data collection, alongside other forms of digital archaeology in the projects I am currently involved in.
